Las Villuercas - where birding thrills are guaranteed.

Las Villuercas is a mountainous area covered with Mediterranean and deciduous forests resembling northern latitudes' vegetation. A 2-3 night stay would give an avid bird watcher, particularly taking advantage of the early hours, sufficient time to enjoy this paradise for Warblers, Passerines and forest birds. The Thekla and Crested Larks are well represented as are Wagtails, Azure-winged Magpies, Black Wheatears, Rock Buntings and Short-toed Tree-Creepers. The Alpine Accentor is present during the winter months.

Raptors are abundant: Short-toed Eagles, Egyptian Vultures, European Honey-Buzzards and good numbers of both Black and Red Kites. The Golden and Bonelli's Eagles breed here. You will see large numbers of Griffon Vultures and with some luck the Eagle Owl.
Birds you may expect to see here.

We offer packed picnic lunches on request.
